online gambling ban

Online gambling is a scam. The "casino" can control everything from their end. They are simply there to take peoples money. At least in a real casino you a chance to win.

HOLY BaJEBUSS!!!!!!!

that is not good, not good at all.

When we get really slow at work my boss will drop 500 on Party Poker and we will sit here and play for hours. Solitaire here i come!

doesn't bother me at all...I too would rather go to a casino if I was intent on pissing my money away

Bwhahahahhahah, both are scams made to pay the house and you have a small chance to win in both. Most people can win but its about coming out on top which most dont.

i played online blackjack once.. the site gave me 25 to try it and i withdrew over 1000 in 2 weeks. Left 40 in there and lost that then quit. Dont even remember the name of it now.

Was fun though :D

My old roommate got hooked on Party Poker while on catastrophe duty in Florida 2 or so years ago. He came back with a wallet full of hazard pay and proceeded to blow every penny of it on that site. They tapped him for just under 12k before he 'took steps'* to control his addiction. I can't help but think that this is a good thing, if only to add more hurdles to the process of pissing your money away.

*steps taken: Have me block PartyPoker, PokerAllStars and 4-5 other sites on my computer and the router (by IP addy), reduce his access on my machine to basic user to keep him from installing software or modifying system settings, and giving his computer to his dad for safekeeping.

However, the counterpoint is that people should be able to control themselves without having to rely on the government babysit everyone. If anything, this is taking away future options of anything related to online gambling and that's bad. Just because it's a "sin" doesn't mean if should be ridden of. I know that thenext bill to ban online pornography may fail, but it will probably get more votes if it doesn't actually pass. Once that passes, we'll see problems of more lobbyists trying to apply religious values to all political decisions.

At least in a casino you get free alcohol.
"free" if you're a complete bastard and you don't tip the waitress - and the socially acceptable tip is a 5 dollar chip

which means it isn't really free

I tip, but I'm also ordering corona/XX which is typically 3.50-4.50 a bottle, so I don't really care. :p

Also, I'm not a big card player and just chill at flashy slot machines. Hasn't been so bad as we're up 200-something dollars in two days just from jumping penny slots.
