and I posted before, I heard some outrageous figure that we were spending like 10K PER SECOND in the middle east on military spending.

This country constantly needs an adversary. The governments needs to have something for us to fear. It used to be the Communists, now its Osama. I think its likely that we could find him, but why?

And I seriously doubt that we could have found/killed/made a deal with him. That requires waaaay too many people to keep a secret.

It's funny cos they didn't even really give a crap about him, that's why they never found him. It was all about oil pipe lines in certain countries pre-war. I just don't get it, it's like the hugest fuck up in the entire history of mankind, 'let's spend impossible amounts of money to kill innocent people, ruin the infrastructure of third world countries and then spend more money because we're fucking douches'. Eurgh I hate this world.

It can be inefficient, I work in the healthcare system I know, but with socialism people don' get left behind, I just think it's way more humane than some other systems. Why should people down on their luck, not born with the same opportunities etc. be fucked instead of supported? I like our system, I can understand you guys opposing it, but I don't see why anybody would think it's a terrible thing or something to fear.

Well 'you' = your country, your government, not you personally. Like when I say I hate America, that doesn't mean I hate you, I really can't stand your country as a whole, but you personally I like. Probably hard to understand.

No, it's easy to understand. It was just a commentary on your sometimes overused generalizations. ;)

To say that the wars in the middle east were almost all the work of one man who used his cult of cronies to garner support for it is pretty much a true statement.

I can't think of many people who support the war right now. Troops, yes, they are just doing their job, and are the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and friends of just about anyone over here. But the war, that spending is just as much a cause of the financial crisis right now as the bullshit greed rampant by those in our banking system.
 
meh, I'm just saying, we're humans.. animals really. there are strong, and there are weak. how would any species evolve were there no natural selection.


oh, i know.. society would turn into Idiocracy.
