Flooring ideas

another vote for bamboo, also have you considered polished concrete, i'm not sure what your sub floor is.

I saw some laminate today and it was the same price per sq ft for mats as hardwood :wtf:

I did find some laminates, however, that were quite  for $2.37 sqft.

I think I will be going with that.

I like your first link for a kitchen floor, if you'd like you could have it put in my kitchen to see how well you really like it. The 2nd link would be nice through the rest of your house. :)

Never pay retail.

Shopping in stores is over-rated and overly expensive. :D

*edit* Just install whatever you decide on yourself. Don't pay someone to do it. You can go to your local Home Depot or Lowes for some quick course "training" . They have "DIY" classes every Saturday. Just go check the roster for what classes they are having and when.

It'll take you the better part of maybe 3 days to complete the project. Depending on how much time and effort you want to spend each day ... and how much Sq Footage you are working with. Anything under 1400 shouldn't take you long at all.

It's not hard to install laminate floorimg, or tile for that matter. It's just tedious. That's what you are paying for .. the time consumption .. not the "skill level" for the job performed.

Just don't forget to add in the cost of your foam underlay if going with laminate flooring ;). They also had great prices on that as well. You can also check Ebay for that stuff.

Contractors sometimes put it up for bid when they buy too much. Just make sure you know your correct sq footage when surfing. :)
