DWARF FORTRESS

Ive been meaning to post this since last September, but a recent thread on PA has made me get back into it. (who knows, maybe i mentioned it allready and forgot about it)

so ladies and gets, i bring to you the wonderful world of Dwarf Fortress. A whimsical game of digging out a fort, seeing your dwarves thrive and then without warning, watching them die in the most spectacular and retarded manner.

There is Dwarf Fortress mode (where you make a settlement in the side of a mountain, and Adventurer mode (which is a roguelike)
This game is crazy good and has an intense level of detail (graphics excluded) and a learning curve that makes most college students weep. But once you get the hang of it, a good ol time is had by all.

Welcome to the bane of my existence, I hate this game. It sucks Hydro in for hours at a time and sometimes he wakes up after we've gone to bed to play it. Some days I feel like deleting all the files...

I know. I wonder how hard it'll be to keep track of things. I suspect that a lot of things will go unnoticed just because it's on another level of the fortress. On the plus side it should be impossible to flood the world.

We have one in the oven, I am 21 weeks along, ie over half done!

i almost wish the Z axis wasnt being implemented. The new maps look good, and a lot of the improvements can be made to make the 2d experience a lot better.

I'll be really happy when full tile set features are done.
