This trio from Canada (!) just completely kickass.
They build thier songs around fat meaty riffs, and the vocals are your classic old-school-heavy-metal-screaming , and these guys pull it off very well. And they sound great live as well, you can grab a couple of their mp3s from their website www.dankojones.com
If you like simple stripped down no bullshit kind of music than give these guys a listen.

I'm so glad I live riht next to the city.

There's tons of music stores, some of them aren't even small though. But they do have some badass rare stuff. And the new oxfam store has lots of nice vinyl.
