Game of the week

Some good games out there and a lot of who the fuck cares games out there.

7:30PM ET #16 Utah @ #4 TCU

Quarterbacks - Fresh off of his first Start Jordan Wynn gets the nod for Utah again. He had a very good performance throwing for 297 yards and 2 TDs. This was however against a team that has yet to win a game. The talent level is going to rise dramatically as they face TCU. Andy Dalton also had a stellar performance and will be facing a top 20 defense.

TCU's RBs vs. Utah's Front 7 - Joseph Turner will be taking the bulk of the carries but there is time split between 2 other RBs and Dalton is a rushing threat himself. While Utah's rushing defense hasn't been exactly stellar, they have faced far better completition than TCU has so they have more experience against higher teir teams. It's time to find out how much of the stats were set based off of the opponent as opposed to true talent.

Utah's RBs vs. TCU's Front 7 - Eddie Wide mans the helm and had an amazing game last weekend rushing for 122 yards........in one quarter. No doubt he'll be using this momentum coming into this game. It is however, against the #7 rushing defense in the country. Unlike his more experienced counterpart, Wynn hasn't been utilized as a rushing QB.

TCU's Passing game vs. Utah's Defense - TCU is utilizing a medium passing game but has shown the ability to air it out. They also spread the love as 8 different receivers have gone to the house. Dalton doesn't make many mistakes either as he's only thrown 3 picks all season. However Utah is in the top 16 for interceptions.

Utah's Passing game vs. TCU's defense - Utah comes out guns blazing and tries to air it out. They pass more successfully than they run having numerous guys go over 20 YPR. It's tough to say how mistake prone Wynn is without a resume of experience. HOwever, TCU is 12th in the nation in sacks.

Overview - This is probably going to be a high action game and most likely both teams will destroy their defensive rankings here. I just see Utah pulling off the upset here.

nope. it's strictly hometown bias.

i'm curious though what the stats are on higher ranked teams beating lower ranked teams. is it 50% of the time, 75%?

I honestly don't know. I'm assuming it's closer to 80% though. This is assuming we're talking strictly top 25.

yeah, I knew it was one of those armed forces branches with a notoriously awful team

Navy is currently bowl eligible.

They've also been in a bowl game since 2003. In the bowl games they lost (against ACC, MWC, or Big12 teams) they lost by no more than 7 points. Their largest victory (against a Big12 team) was by 23 points.
