I myself am really into computers, but i am only a nerd when at a computer, not around friends, though.

Anyways, why dont we post our configs? and the configs of the first computer we ever had/owned ourselves?

First computer i ever owned myself was in ~2002 i think (note that i havent been around computers more than but 3 years but i know a ton about them now and run my own site):
1.8 GHz Pentium 4 (400 MHz front side bus (FSB), 256K L2)
Generic motherboard with SiS chipset (couldnt change a single thing in the BIOS except for like the time and date, but not a single thing to let me overclock )
40 gig Western Digital hard drive
Cheap Midtower case

Current Rig:
2.4 GHz Pentium 4 overclocked to 3.3 GHz
ABIT IC7-MAX3 motherboard
1 gig Kingston RAM
Plextor DVD burner
CHenming full tower case
Fortron 400 Watt PSU
Radeon 9600Pro

Laptop:
Dell Latitude D600 (i got $1k off the price because i bought it through a college )
1.7 GHz Pentium M
512 Megs RAM
15" Screen (1400x1050)

The first computer I ever put together was a 400mhz Celeron. The first computer I ever owned was a powermac 6500 that my parents got me for college.

My current computer is a 2.53 Ghz P4 with 768mb of ram and a Radeon 9800 pro.

I'm in the middle of building a AMD64 setup now. The only thing slowing me down is people want me to buy stuff with real money.

My home 2 PCs and home laptop are only used for web surfing, music, playing kids games, and e-mail. But I'm ready to build a new gaming station. I have 6 computers and several laptops I use everyday at work that are mine that's why I don't use my home computers for much. That and after 50+ hours a week at work and my wife complains if I screw around too much on the home computers.

Since then I've had various 8086's, 8088's, a 286 laptop, 386-486's, whatever

My laptop is a 3 year old Dell C640 with 1GB RAM and a 2.2Ghz Pentium 4, I also have an RS/6000 with a 250Mhz PPC and 1GB of RAM.

My computer is an emachines AMD 64 laptop. I have an 80 gig hard drive, 512 ram (I think), and an ATI radeon 9600. This is the first computer I've really owned.
