A question of usage

@SRC

The problem, or non-problem, or rather fact, of English is that usage defines propriety, there is no such thing as a standard. Dictionaries now call 'cow' an acceptable substitute, but that is because they get their usage from print material, which is mostly made up of idiot journalists. A farmer would never call them 'cows' unless they were in fact all female.

For the longest time English was pegged to Latin in regards to standards. That died out after WW2 and idiots run the show. I could make a huge argument about how I'm only looking for words with one specific meaning regardless of common usage but it would take too long and most everyone knows what I'm talking about here.
