I'd move to Switzerland. They give out SIG 552s at high school graduation.

Granted, all men do two years of military service right after high school, but you still get to keep the 552 when you're done.

Not when a small house costs $500,000, groceries are far more expensive than in rural areas, and there are $100,000 or more worth of student loans.

It's all relative.

Sure, if you were making $150,000 a year in an area where a nice house is $100,000, that's a different story.

And that, is why the graduated income tax rates are wrong.

the only places where a small house costs 500k are where rich people live.

you don't have to buy a 500k house, you choose to because you can afford to. you can afford to because you are upper class. ditto with the expensive student loans.

Well, I could buy a condo for $300,000 - and give up having a yard.

Or, I could spend less on a house and have an hour commute.

My town is NOT a rich town, the rich towns are more like $700k+ for a house.

that's what the middle class do.

in my case i moved to the hood where houses are about half what they were in my old neighborhood.
