ozzfest '07 will be free!

I really have grown to hate large amphitheater gigs, so no way in hell. I do hope that their ticketing scheme actually works and gets adopted by other artists.

Won't they just get corporate sponsors to make it "free" then shove the advertising down your throat when you're there? You'd go to get a drink, and you'd have a choice of Bud Light or Coke.

Meh, their sales were down, so they're trying something new. Hope it works, but I won't be going. I like hard music, but hate the typical metal head type.

Meh, it won't be free for the 80% of people who have to buy tickets from scalpers because they block them up as soon as they go on sale. What a windfall for the secondary ticket market.

I don't think they'll allow someone to go get free blocks of tickets...call me crazy :p

They already do that at the shows you have to pay for. I think from what I can see here, that part of whatever hoops you jump through before you get your "free" ticket is not only to ensure that the sponsors get their money's worth, but also so scalpers don't monopolize all the tickets.

I would just be afraid that the quality of the show will be lessened by this. Again, it doesn't really affect me as I won't go, but I'm skeptical of the outcome.

They don't make money on admission anyways.
They make money on 15$ beer and 7$ water.
