Crystalizing lung tissue was also one of the potential dangers of smoking menthol cigarettes.

Virtually inhaling anything can be hazardous to health in some way. You are correct about the counterfeit/cheaper stuff being the worst stuff.

IIRC, there was a hair on fire ban of all flavored vape juices as soon as some kids got sick without any real research into what was making them sick. It was likely caused by “black market” products, including the hardware, but since it’s easier to just ban the products that aren’t fueling your re-election bid, that was what they did.

Nobody remembers John Boehner handing out checks from tobacco lobbyists ON the fucking floor of the House of Representatives.

I've often thought of, but haven't yet, growing some plain tobacco plants and seeing how much different it is from commercial cigarettes. I imagine pretty different.
Haven't looked into the legality of it but probably falls under some ATF regs or something. Like you could get fined or arrested or something for growing your own.

I know it’s off topic and I haven’t read the rest of the thread before posting this, but I don’t care. Oregon recently passed a tax hike on all tobacco products (supposedly) that would’ve raised prices $2 a pack on cigarettes. My son bought a super fancy idiot proof cigarette machine, then tubes, tobacco, and some empty plastic packs. He now rolls (manufactures) his own for less than $17 a carton, not counting the cost of the machine.

He also claims to notice less coughing, and the cigs smell fantastic. There may still be secret additives but I feel it’s probably easier to pepper cigarettes with crack-like ingredients than it is to spike bagged tobacco.

Lobbyist dollars can easily create non-partisan backing of virtually any bill.

He is - Acreage Holdings. Dory brought that up in the stock thread. AH is slated to be sold for 3.4 billion to a company called Canopy. Someone has shit covered.
Boehner has a major boner at this time for weed. Sits around listening to reggae for good luck.
