WTF Bad boys, Bad boys, whatcha gonna do

Apparently that cop (Lane) told the murderer to stop three times, cited some stuff from his training and got shut down twice. He still fucked up, but comparatively should plead out with something far lesser than murder 3. Takes some balls to question a 19 year veterans actions on your 4th day.

This also should be strong evidence against Chauvin, that he was told three times not to do what he was doing by a fellow officer, and kept doing it.

To me it’s also worse for Chauvin given that he was the training officer in charge.

So I didn’t realize the cops that stood around and watched had only been cops 4 days. It doesn’t make it right but I can partially see why they were just standing around.
I've never been a cop and I wouldn't have just stood around. don't kill people or let people be killed is like, not being a piece of shit 101

what would you have done?
theres any number of things they could have done, ranging from offering to take over to physically removing him

"they didn't cover not letting coworkers kill restrained/subdued people who aren't resisting and pose no danger in the first 4 days" isn't a valid excuse. did they teach you that at your job? would you let a coworker do that?

hey, do you wanna know what getting shot with rubber bullets does to your body?

wild that so many rounds were fired into their back, almost like they were facing away and very unlikely to have been a threat 🤔

now think about the fact that some of them have been aiming for (and hitting) peoples' heads

Never been a cop either but had many training sessions on physical restraint and have restrained people quite a lot solo or with another person. Sadly they don't train the bystander effect out of you if you've got it. That's why people don't speak up. I dont allow people to get restrained badly in my presence because I'm a person who speaks up, others ignore and walk away or freeze.

I saw a post from an eye doctor practically begging people to stop off at a hardware store before protesting to pick up some shatter proof glasses for less than $5

The cops are literally just lighting up people with pepper balls when they aren't doing anything. This one the guy and his pregnant wife are in their car driving with traffic. They aren't part of anything they are doing food delivery.

Another video of the incident. You can see the cops just harassing people at the start then towards the end they shoot the car.

i think it’s a lot easier to say this from the outside.

I give the people filming a pass because there is absolutely a power dynamic, and those people would absolutely have risked the same fate if they tried to step in.
I have zero sympathy for the cops, new or not. they had the power in that situation, and the squandered it. and the behavior of cops all over the last week is a clear indicator that that's not a bug, it's a feature.

This upset me this morning... with everything going on everything upsets me every morning with the news. So much hatred towards each other.

now imagine if this was your life, not just during a time of civil unrest but knowing any encounter with the cops could end that way and people would say you deserved it, because you didn't have footage to disprove their lies (like "he tripped"), because you had done something wrong ever in your life, because "the cops must have had a good reason for it"

like idk maybe the cop that pushed a 75 year old man into the ground and the throng around him that didn't stop to render aid were new, maybe they hadn't been trained not to do that yet

you know what they are trained on, though?

the article is not new, but of note the MPD officer who killed Philando Castile had received this training. I can't speak to whether Chauvin had, and I'd buy that the new guys probably hadn't yet. but thousands of cops from hundreds of precincts all over the country have.

I did read this morning they suspended the two cops and are investigating. There is going to be sooooooo much money spent on lawsuits against Police for stuff like this.
