Yeah they said something about only focusing on violent offenders.
Its Philly. That's all we have!

Ya here what they're not doing is stuff like low dollar value petty theft that didn't involve breaking in, non-injury car wrecks, frivolous traffic tickets, having people on misdemeanor probation check in over the phone instead of going to meetings, etc.

I heard something about letting non violent offenders out of jail until this is over and then making them go back.
While it will help stop the spread within the prison, who's going to round them all up again?
Who's gonna want to go back?
Who are they letting out?
Da fuq?

Just quit cold Turkey. You don't need a vape.

I could quit cold turkey. And then I could have an emotional breakdown. I'm making a choice not to have an emotional breakdown right now and keep on with some form of habit til this blows over and I'm in a better place mentally and emotionally to quit the one tried and tested strategy I have to fall back on in times of stress. :)
We have been deemed "essential commerce" so no working from home
Ah well, some dreams dont come true

Yup. I'm back at the office as of tomorrow. It was vaguely fun while it lasted to be at home but ah well. I'm buddied up with one of my staff as of tomorrow to do remote services and go out to peoples doorsteps etc. The Police and NHS have agreed it's more risky for us to stop doing our job than to do it which I'm in agreement with. They're pulling over cars in some parts of the city today to ask where people are going and why they're out.

I also think it's cruel to let them out and then force them to go back.
And anyone they can let out probably shouldn't be in there in the first place.
a lot of the people they are releasing are people that have not even been convicted of a crime, they are people that were awaiting trial. others are people that were supposed to be in for minor stints (one example in the article was like a 10 day jaunt for vandalism or something dumb like that).

The cops here aren't responding to petty non-violent misdemeanor type stuff because virus so now the homeless people and dopeheads and ne'er-do-well punks have carte blanche to steal everyone's bicycles and whatever else they can get their grubby little hands on.

On the plus side they've also eased up on the frivolous ticketing wealth transfer scheme...for now.
Cop I was talking to in line yesterday at Costco thinks there's a real good chance that he's already had it. Was hospitalized for three days in December with a 104F fever and severe shortness of breath. At the time, all they could tell him was that it was some kind of super virus. He's still got mild breathing issues. Crazy+++

My wife thinks the same thing. We had some bad shit late January until mid Feb. IDK. Not taking any chances. I was joking at the store yesterday "6 squares(pointing at floor) bro! Six squares!" Oh, then some fucktard was trying out all the sunglasses, "you need to buy them now. WHUT? His wife explained it to him.
