Well I certainly fucked that one up.

Read Amstels posts on it. He is literally in the business of giving people loans.
When the person lending you the money says your credit is good and gives you the money, it's good. It doesn't matter what the hell Experian or anyone else says about it.

He's probably a loan shark and sends people to break a leg if you don't pay.:p

I found out that my medical debt was on my credit score because my potential mortgage lender told me about it and advised me that while it SHOULDN'T be on there, it was, & I don't qualify for the thing unless I get my score up, & the way to get the score up was to pay that debt.

Even things that aren't on your credit score can effect your ability to get a loan since they effect your income to debt ratio.

Did you try different lenders?
A lot of them won't care as long as you're good on all your other non-medical bills.
Not doubting your situation or anything, just saying a lot of them don't view medical debt as a problem.
