Does it have to be hay?

If it's not going to fall through a screened flooring, would a bag of something like this work? We use them when we go to horse shows, or at camps where you have to bring your own shavings to a stall.

It would also keep the car & where ever you store it cleaner.
NO - pine shavings and needles are not recommended for rodent bedding, nor are cedar shaving anymore. Only hardwood shaving, aspen being the most common are recommended. Or recycled paper. Pine and cedar(a conifer) have phenols that can cause the liver of your pets to shut down just from breathing too much of it. *Rabbits in the wild never girdle/chew pine trees.

Doesn't "have" to be for chicken bedding but it also catches the shit easy and becomes compost/fertilizer later.

Also good for the rabbits as they eat some, chew on it. Good for digestive system and teeth. And also becomes compost/fertilizer later.

As long as it lasts us with our little bit we use here the cost is really no big deal. Just the first time I went to find a bale of hay in this metropolis I was shocked. Couldn't believe it. Told the SO all about what it was and how it should be and then called my Dad, "hey you'll never believe this shit, but.....".

More than ok.
No, but both the bands I'm in are kinda taking off, so that's cool.
Working what I think you call "landscaping" over there.
Gentlemen don't kiss and tell.
I have all the basses I need and more, but I have my eye on the new Orange Terror Bass amp.
Currently riding a bike.
