I think most people at least care about their privacy and keeping as much of it as they can.

Ok, it was stated as a question and didn't realize you were referring to yourself. But you have gotten pissed with people here. Seems there is a self that IS irritated by what others think. People often do stuff to us based on how they feel about us. Just my opinion - ignore me.
