I was tested because in nursing school I signed up for a research study about lysine supplementation, and was kicked from the study because I was negative for HSV 1 and 2. My siblings haven't had cold sores either, so ya, undemonstrative mom?

When I was younger I used to avoid my sister like she had the plague when her cold sores popped up; She's much older than me so she would kiss me on the cheek like a mom. Luckily I've never had cold sores.

I don’t know what they test for during pregnancy but I was told all the std tests came back negative.
