I must have 4 or 5 partial rolls of Teflon tape/plumbers thread tape laying around various places. Can never find one when I need it, go get another. Then some day when I don't need it, "Ah!, there it is. Man I can never find that shit when I need it".

Any Japanese car has a built in feature that mysteriously disappears and reappears 10mm sockets the same way.

In a pinch, the bottom of a ceramic(white clay) coffee cup can put a very nice edge on a knife. ala those ceramic sharpening sticks they charge goofy money for.

I'd actually be OK with this. My record is usually within a day losing the ability to return the new one. ie: as soon as I tear open the new package, or if it's a 30 day return window, I'll find the old one within the next couple days.

& get this, apparently the edge of your car window works in a pinch too. Roll it down, & carefully use that edge.
