Food The (not so) delicious food thread

so yesterday I went to this Filipino American party that was located at a Methodist Revival Camp that's 165 years old. Typical Filipino food, really healthy mungbean soup, fish soup...then the unhealthy fare like plaintain wrapped in a spring roll wrapper then deep fried then rolled in coarse sugar. I had more than a few of those.

The revival camp was a trip- stick built rowhouses they called "tents"...about 500 of them. When they sell they start at $20,000. The camp is only open 2 weeks per year after harvest. Lotsa hallelujahs and such I imagine, the church pavilion is huge.
These white people had no idea what to make of all these squeaky filipinas and half-breed kids. Just keep smiling and keep walking. And stay away from tall trees with low branches.

We should trade some. Ours is coming up on two years old this month!
awesome. One of the most interesting thing about starters is that no one is the same, and most that are even slightly geographically separated are vastly different.

It's just not vegan. Would have been healthier with meat and no dairy.

Between you and the vegans were already down to 3 out of 5. Pretty soon there won't be any food groups left. Everybody will just live on air. Then they'll find something unethical or unhealthy about that too.

speaking of pasta. . . :fly:

yesterday, I had
8 FINGER CAVATELLI AI FUNGHI - Hand-rolled pasta made with ricotta cheese in a light cream sauce with sausage and wild mushrooms.

it was amazing.

in a tent. while trying to watch the meteor showers. I saw exactly 0 meteors. Even driving out 20 more mile, too much light pollution.
