We will be long term dog-sitting for my brother's #2 starting next week. He's a great dog, 4 years old and goes from goofy to scare-the-crap-out-of-the-mail-carrier in a second.
(German Shepherd so you don't have to look back)
I love this dog, and he's always been with kids in a family setting. My husband runs, so will take him on some short runs, and we have a decent yard. The kids and I will take him for walks and to dog parks nearby, there are a few. Those are some of the smartest, most loyal/protective there is. Their brains are super smart and actively thinking all the time. Worst thing one can do is nothing. They need a job/purpose...like border collies.

I don't know what purpose or job for him, but I do know he does the protective thing pretty well, and is well-trained by my brother.
OMG *GUSH* Is that a BEAGLE?!

We met a pit bull rescue named Sugar (all white, as large as a 40lb bag of sugar) and she was incredibly sweet and loving.Beaglish, as I call it. Part beagle, and part some kind of spaniel. All of them were rescues.

I love all animals, but feel so bad for pit bulls and breeds like them because of how they are bred and have breathing issues. They can't run around like average dogs can. :/
God damn it, I said pit bull and meant bull dog. Big ol' dummy here. Most pit bulls are very healthy. We had one who was so active, taking her for walks was enough. We used to go on 45 mike rides - I trained her quickly on the leash to run along next to the bike.
Bulldogs, on the other hand ... Finally, some people are starting to breed them healthier. Look at the pics from those two above - nose are not so short, and the hind legs are pretty long and straight. Look up Olde English Bulldogge.
You know how I know you're fat? Because you measure sugar in 40lb bagsWe met a pit bull rescue named Sugar (all white, as large as a 40lb bag of sugar) and she was incredibly sweet and loving.
