Advice Weapons are uglier than trumps a-hole

I would love to see a world without violence. Unfortunately I believe if we got rid of guns, nothing would change. We would still kill with whatever is available.

I've lived a long time in 2 different countries. One with guns, one with a gun ban. I don't really like the gun ban. It hasn't gotten rid of the guns. There are still plenty of shootings. Also the violence is not any better, if not worse here. People are quick to lash out violently. Glassings, knifings, and all types of beatings. I would much rather have no gun ban at all and take upon myself the burden of protecting myself from those who would do harm to me or others. But that's my opinion after experiencing both ends of the spectrum.

I have experienced violence in my life, seen violence towards others, I still have no wish to get a gun, I have survived this far without one and will continue to do so. I agree that it's the mentality that needs to change.
Let me put it this way, guns are inanimate objects, beauty or ugliness of them is in the eye of the beholder, but I am certain their foundation/birth/origin lies in the uglier side of the human mentality which I am not going to feed.

I have used a gun to stop violence towards a stranger. I didn't have to discharge it. Just the sight of it was enough to make the guy let go of the woman's hair so she could run away.

I've also seen people shot dead in front of me for reasons that should have never warranted a death sentence.

Life is full of yings and yangs.

Why America needs guns. We're just a different culture of people compared to England. If Trump turns out to be a Hitler type, you're going to be damn glad guns are legal in the country because your'e going to fucking die without one.

Which is exactly why the "bigger" guns are not on sale for civilians. Also an ak47 is no match for a mig, or a nuclear bomb. It's just increasing local violence in the name of rights.
