Baby Autistic kids don't go through synaptic pruning

When anyone mentions the vaccine/autism link, just tell them what actually happened:

- A piece of shit scientist, Andrew Wakefield, filed a patent on a single-shot measles vaccine. Interestingly, the patent states that the MMR vaccine causes crons/colitis and autism - and it was filed for years before his "study" took place.
- Unfortunately measles is covered in the MMR shot everyone gets, and he wasn't gonna make any money off his new vaccine design, so he declares war on the MMR vaccine. He decides to create a bunch of irrational fear surrounding the MMR vaccine, driving people away from it and having them use individual vaccines instead - including his fancy new patented measles vaccine.
- He approached fellow piece-of-shit lawyers and said "hey, know any kids with autism? we can get their parents to sue the shit out of the medical establishment, using my made up study as evidence, and you'll make tons of dough" - in return, they give him over half a million bucks US for his study, using money set aside for legal defense of the poor.
- He fabricates his "MMR causes all these horrible things!" paper, and releases it in a scientific journal. He even coins a new term "autistic enterocolitis" for his new made up syndrome and comes up with a "test kit" that he can sell for it.
- Lawyers file their lawsuits, and the media goes all over it, and spreads "DO VACCINES CAUSE AUTISM?" panic around the world. Wakefield (this part is made up, but could be true) breaks into maniacal supervillan laughter.
- Scientists worldwide cried "oh shit, something's wrong with the MMR vaccine, we gotta look into this" and repeated his study on a far larger scale. They couldn't replicate his results, because they were fucking made up.
- Eventually someone blew the whistle on wakefield's massive conflict of interest and fabricated evidence.
- Sadly, "DO VACCINES CAUSE AUTISM?" is still in everyone's minds, "Wakefield gets it in the ass" didn't get any attention in the media, and nobody's capable of critical thought or researching what they read these days. So the fucking thing won't die.

TLDR: "vaccines cause autism" is a made-up claim from a piece of shit scientist who wanted to drive people away from the established vaccine so he could make a ton of money.

Oh, and thanks to anti-vaccination dog owners, there's now a parvo outbreak in my area. Fucks sake.

Dude, that sucks. I hope, if she's the one for you & you want kids, that she doesn't hold you back.

Shit happens. Even the perfect kid can have some life debilitating event that you have no control over. This isn't the norm. :\
Eh, she's not that paranoid, it's just another thing she worries about.
She likes to worry about things, I don't know why

I have spoken about my friend's son who she is always trying to label with autism. I feel that she is a helicopter mom and needs to chill the fuck down...
Anyways after going to numerous places trying to get him diagnose and failing one day she decided that all of the sudden he has Tourette's syndrome... So she drove me crazy with this for about eight months...
Again she failed at getting him diagnosed with Tourette's..
Turns out she has a learning disability and something about auditory blah blah blah...

@Mr. Asa ask ladybutt about this plz. How can a person go from Tourette's syndrome to just having a learning disability how crazy is my friend???
Sounds like she's nutso, and found a doctor that either humored her, or realized she would keep going around till she got a diagnosis she wanted.
From what I know of Tourette's it doesn't really manifest in ways that can be mistaken for a lot of things, much less a learning disability.

I dunno, before I ask Ladybutt, I'd need to have more information about what she was claiming, and what her kid was doing.

Ask away my nikkkkka

I used today's conversation as an example. Not as concrete proof of everyone knowing what she does.

They ever get a diagnosis for your kid? Get him off the fence one way or another?
No. He's seen two children psychologists here last week & n they both are leaning towards Aspergers. But, they said he's not typical Asp, because he's very empathetic & loving, but also that he's seemingly eager to gain help/control over his struggles. Most Asps are almost full on anger. The school & I will be doing an IEP for him.

Anyway, still waiting for an appt with the specialists he's been referred to...

Your son's favorite shirt is a Ramones shirt. That makes him perfect in my book.

Those people annoy me. I had one friend who did that with their kid. Wound up diagnosing with ASD and then "cured" her later. Fucking stupid people need to go away like that. I think some people want a diagnosis.
