FYI Tapatalk 4 HD on sale this week for .99

K, so I checked to see what differences Tapatalk 4 had to offer and it's just some crash fixes, the ability to integrate Facebook, Twitter and whatever with your ID, and some other useless shit.

Also, more reviews than positive say they have problems with it. So Meh.

I'll stay with what I've got.

I forgot you're on republic, that sucks. Switch to a real phone/carrier. Everyone is going prepaid contract free now so just pony up.

my phone bill would double :/ no can do.

I have an irrational hatred of recurring payments. They really add up fast.

Buy unlocked phone, stuff in SIM card from current phone.

a) cdma
b) the whole structure of Republic is based off WIFI offload of data/voice. Theyve got custom code running on their version of gingerbread that theyre dicks about releasing, and the phones are locked down, so its not extractable thus far, so it cant be ported

Boo.

Whine and complain until they release a new phone. Samsung's got a CDMA version of the SII they could use.

Call and tell them you're going to be traveling abroad and wish to use your phone overseas. They're obligated to unlock for that. I've gotten Verizon and ATT to do it.

Unless its a world phone, that doesn't matter.

edit: And all that would allow him to do is move to a GSM carrier.

waw doesnt technology

im ok for now, im stuck on gingerbread, which sucks (especially since the vanilla version of my phone runs jelly bean). Maybe republic will come out with new phones, maybe more providers will take their model and come in at the 20-25 dollar unlimited range, maybe someone will eventually extract the republic wireless custom offload code and port it to jelly bean.
