For those that don't know the glory of a butter bell, its basically a bell shape that you cram with butter, then stick it underwater to keep it fresh.

that's my current trick, but i like the butter bell idea. i may have to pick one of those up. only thing i'd worry about is it not working in august when it hits 83 in my house during the day.

As long as you change the water every few days, you'll be fine. We turn the air up to at least 80 during the week...

mine is allowed to reach 83 when i'm not home. usually gets turned down to 78ish when i'm home.

I wonder what we're going to do next year. We always kept our a/c set at 65 in the apartment so I dunno.

Well, I'd say real butter is better than that processed junk.

Although the spreadable butter with canola oil is somewhat tolerable.

I vastly prefer the delicious Cabot butter though

you can use either, I've heard it's best to use unsalted so you can control the salt content yourself.

As long as it isn't hot enough to melt the butter, it will be fine.
