That was certainly a max, but even the first responders that were anywhere near a graphite chunk were getting like 15k plus
 
Radiation events are scary shit. Like just scrapping some machinery or stealing from an old Soviet stockpile and then you die slowly and terribly.

There is one from the US that wasn't slow. The ball of death or something. Two criticality accidents, people.died inside a week.
