desktops too? what's the point? is it easy to walk out of there with a tower? I suppose they could just gank the drive though
drive gank is easier than you think. esp if the machines are not secured like they are supposed to be.

lcds have been available for a good 8+ years now
fear not. i'm still using my crt's.yeah, I just didnt think they were poppin out LCD's when the computer package had a 20gb hard drive. Rude awakening for me since I just recently switched from my old crt
since this is a tech thread...do any of your companies encrypt drives on your laptops? we just made it mandatory and I'm installing the encryption package on a few execs laptops right now

I believe PCI bullshit. It (also) makes it much easier to dispose of the hard drives...
we have some massive electromagnet drive destroyer thingy

every once in a while a buddy of mine is tasked with drilling holes through retired, but otherwise fine hard drives.Apparently, that aint good enough. PCI compliance is a pain in the ass.
dunno about free but this is what we're using http://www.credant.com/
Looks like we're gonna go with this solution instead of Pointsec. Very slick app. I thought it was gonna be shit because it doesn't do full disk encryption. I was wrong. Active Directory integration makes it sex as compared to Pointsec.
the only thing I'm aware of that you have to watch out for is .pst files over 3gb have an issue and need to be split or moved off before initial encryption
where do the attachments go?
cool.Attachments get 'shortcuted' via a product called EmailExtender. They basically get archived off to low cost file servers.
No psts. We have .osts, but no attachments in them, so its pretty small...
