Shaved $10,000 off MSRP to buy the car.

change your own brakes, two hours maxMillions said:Some mechanics are just assholes!
Had to get new pads and new rotors on my car a while back...took it to some place near my house...the guy wanted $350 bucks just to do the front brakes! I told him he was insane and full of bullshit. He sat there for 10 minutes trying to explain to me that he was the cheapest in town and that I would be stupid to go anywhere else.
...called my regular mechanic..."Hmm. $40 bucks if you buy the parts." Parts altogether were like $80...pssht!

I'd prefer to use my money for other things besides paying someone else to do something that I can do better. Hell, if I had all the tools, I'd be mounting my own tires and doing my own alignments and everything. Sometimes I really miss working in a shop.Millions said:Meh. Car repair bores the hell out of me. I'm just not into it in the least.
