Would you say this is discrimination?

But if it's my own choice as a private industry to set that policy why can't I do that?

Or what if I don't want to hire any homosexuals (which it's still not proven if it's genetic or choice)

Who would choose to be gay? Not that it is a bad thing, but that would be torture living every day being completely discriminated by many people around you.

Its very much so genetic.

The ATF is such a bizarre oganization. Wow, we're way off topic now.

So if I don't want to hire any Hispanics for my private enterprise, I'm good to go?

You should be. It's not legal but that's the way things should be. If someone doesn't want to hire people of a certain race, gender, religion or whatever they shouldn't have to. Let people make their own decisions as to whether or not said companies deserve their business. If your company refuses to hire Hispanics, people can choose not to do business with you but you shouldn't have to hire someone you don't want to employ.

I agree with you, but that's not what I was getting at nor trying to argue that point.

Why does there need to be a line? Why does a private business need to be regulated on any level about who they choose to hire or why?

Which goes back to my original question. If I decide I don't want any Hispanics in my private business I have every right to not allow it correct?

You should. Currently you don't because you'll get cut by La Raza if you do. :fly: And then sued.

Well what grounds would they have for suiing? It's a privately owned business.

affirmative action, home slice. you can't list such things as reasons for not hiring someone. sure you can make up your own reasons but if you get a lot of hispanic applicants and turn them all down eventually someone's gonna get pissed off and sue the frak out of you

Then smokers also shouldn't be discriminated upon because they smoke.

wait what?

Smokers are not a protected class
You accept everyone's applications and throw away the ones you don't want. If they sue just explain they weren't qualified enough to get the job.

you'd think it'd be that easy but people do get sued for racial or gender discrimination or as some other "protected class" and win.

Wow, that's a big bone you have

 even I float and I have no fat on me

Or what if you're built like me? (who according to those charts, I need to lose over 60 pounds)

If I were you, I would find work in porn

Homosexuals are a scourge upon the earth. They take off work just for a sale at Macy's, leading to lesser work production out of them. They distract others by recommending hair products and style tips. They are a detriment to work production of others. They shouldn't be hired for any job but homosexual porn and test subjects for HIV vaccines.

Back to the topic at hand, I do think that is discrimination, but in this context I am all for it. They take drug tests at my employer for a cubicle position, why not test for nicotine and ban hiring someone for that, too? It's just one more chemical.
