Installed it in a VM on my work machine Friday afternoon. Didn't really play with it that much, but it did seem snappier than Vista.

Outside of performance improvements (if they actually exist), I don't see a single thing that makes me want to use it.

At WinHEC 2008 Microsoft announced that color depths of 30-bit and 48-bit would be supported in Windows 7 along with the wide color gamut scRGB (which for HDMI 1.3 can be converted and output as xvYCC). The video modes supported in Windows 7 are 16-bit sRGB, 24-bit sRGB, 30-bit sRGB, 30-bit with extended color gamut sRGB, and 48-bit scRGB.[33][34]

Someone explain the impact of this, I don't know enough about display technology to really know.

Windows 7 is supposed to be awesome. Seriously. I'm thinking of loading it on my main box. I got it downloaded, but they haven't put up the key reg site.
