So with the imminent shutdown of iGoogle (http://google.com/ig) I was looking for a way to keep track of all my RSS feeds. I found igHome (http://www.ighome.com/) but was meh about it. This morning I saw mention of the Google Reader again.

*omfg*

It's actually waaaay nicer than iGoogle for tracking RSS feeds. So that said, what RSS/blogs do you track?

Welcome to 5 years ago. Google reader is fucking awesome. Newsrob is a fantastic offline reader, syncs well and everything.

yeah, I hate they are getting rid of iGoogle. I transitioned off it after my last laptop rebuild because I knew it was soon going away, but for years that was my start page.

i've never gotten into rss. Why would i want technology from the 1920s brought digitally. Thats all rss is, ticker tape.

well, im trying it now for my NZB sites. Going through 20 pages of nzbs, on 5 sections, of 2 sites is a pita. I put em all into feeds, we'll see if it works any better.

Why would you not? You can go to one place and read what you want from sites you want, without having to navigate the web. No advertising, the ad images usually don't show in a reader.

I use it on my smartphone and I like that I can read whatever in a format that will look good on the screen.

what woodworking blog do you read? I watch mark spagnolo's stuff pretty regularly, but thats not really ab log

i basically use twitter as an RSS feed, most of the people I follow are actually news orgs and tech websites

I love RSS feeds, but I use the RSS reader in Outlook at work. It's just easier. :hs:
I miss open internet access at work. They've got us on lockdown here but you only show up on the report when you try to access a blocked page. Nobody reads the reports but they are generated weekly.

We have that too, but I'm a manager so they let me have free reign. Yay!
