A .38 revolver would be good, or even better using .38's in a .357 (Larger frame).

Plus, the manual of arms with a revolver is much simpler....

I always thought the .380s kicked hard because they are prevalent in compact pistols.

I like the .357. Mine is a pretty typical S&W K-frame. And I feel safe knowing that when I'm empty, I could always kill someone by throwing the pistol at them.
