Cliffs: This is crazy. Girl is born without a windpipe. Scientists take some stem cells from her, apply them to a plastic 'scaffolding', and cook the thing until the cells start to make a windpipe. Then surgeons implant it into her where shit magically starts lining up and a true windpipe is made. Since its all her own cells, its not something her body will attack.

Fucking science is awesome.

I also saw a news story where a Turkish woman who was born without a womb got a womb transplant, then had her own eggs fertilized and placed in the new womb, the fetus is 6 weeks along now and has no complications

Meh. She'll need additional one(s) in the future so the science is still pretty lame.

I know they have been working on this tech for some time. Back in the early 90's, Wired magazine was touting the potential for vat grown replacement organs at being the root of a revolution not just in health care, but in longevity. Like extending the human lifespan out a few centuries level of longevity. Optimistic, since they still can't figure out much about the brain which without that any plans for longevity are moot, but this is huge. For all practical purposes, it's her own organ. The concept is fucking brilliant.

I want cyborg eyes.

You gotta kill a few people, and then you gotta get sent to a slam. One where they tell you you'll never see daylight again. You dig up a doctor, and you pay him 20 menthol Kools to do a surgical shine job on your eyeballs.

So you can see in the dark?
