dbzeag, i see your point, but in this case, i don't feel it's valid. i know older gay men who never married. they didn't feel like they could ever come out, but they never married. you aren't supposed to go into a marriage (excluding other cultures/religions i don't know about) because it's the right thing to do socially, regardless of what time/era it is. people have always been people, and that should be a simple thing to understand. i know it has happened and still happens i'm sure, but the bottom line is, like knyte has pointed it out, is that everyone is responsible for his or her own decisions.
