reading geddy lee's big beautiful book of bass. 250 axes from his personal vintage collection with stories of their histories and how he got them/where he used them. amazing stuff for someone who grew up idolizing him and writing down every bass I ever saw him use on a wishlist.

I’m surprised you haven’t been desensitized via immersion.

I just scooped a fresh cat doot and couldn’t even smell it.

Many years ago I worked in an auto body shop. For the first week or two you get what's called the painters flu. Basically cold-like stuffy head type symptoms from the chemicals and paint dust, etc. After that wears off, stuff like laquer thinner and other smells most people might find offensive you can't hardly smell at all.

So, what's your earliest memory of being ripped off?

Mine is from a flea market around 78 I think.
I had a buck and this caught my attention.

I asked how much and the guy said 5 but if you want it for a buck take it for a buck.
SOLD!
Got it home and neither shifter worked the other end of the track was missing and there were only 3 straight tracks out of 4 ... 6?.
Anyway, later that year friends and I learned those straight track strips hurt like a bitch when you smack each other with them, so it wasn't a complete loss.
