We did have some trouble getting out there. The day we were supposed to fly out of Kansas City, we got up at 4:00 for our early flight. I got a call from one of the other peeps in my crew and he says that our flight is delayed. It's now going to put us into Houston 30 minutes AFTER our next flight goes to Roatan. This is bad. We had already booked a charter flight from Roatan to Utila, and they only do one or two a day. Nothing else is open, going through another city to catch a flight is out of the question. Feeling defeated, we mulled our options and decided that we had no other choice but to just head to Houston and make the airline put us up for the night. When we got there the crew had tried hard to make better time and we landed about 15 minutes before the flight was due to leave. HOPE! Sadly enough we still missed it and told the airline that we expected some sort of compensation. About 30 minutes went by and we were approached by our customer service guy. Magically enough, 7 seats opened up on the next flight to Roatan. It puts is there 2 hours later than we expected, but it's progress. We called the charter and asked if they would do a later flight for us... and in typical island fashion, the response was "no problem". It was just our crew going for the later flight, so they held off and this is where the pics begin...
We had two puddle jumpers for our crew and luggage. My team took the second plane. The rest already left before us.
Got to ride shotgun!
Finlly on our private island!
Island cat comes with island. This kitteh was awesome. She'd bring hermit crabs into the house and play hockey with them.
More water.
Rocks surround the north shore to make a calm pool to chill in.
Sup
One of my favorite shots so far.
Who doesn't like a good sunset?
Pelican photobomb
Aww kitteh
Hermit crabs came out at night. Some of these things were huge. We would take any food scraps that we didn't want and just dispose of it by putting them up agains the trees. The crabs took care of the rest.
Two sunrise shots. These are all with the GoPro, btw...
Notice the mountains in the first pic. Honduran mainland, about 13 miles off.
More sunset
Actually... this one might be my favorite.
Lets get wet, bb.
