Video What the "smart" person thinks of the average american.

stuff done for the US would be a welcome change and it's what our tax dollars should be going to. fuck propping up every govt across the globe at the expense of our own people. that shit's not right.
C'mon, you should know I despise that most of all.

I would be slightly less ticked off if the money were all going here.

You do realize that we can't keep borrowing and spending forever right? Additionally, just because the federal government couldn't spend, doesn't mean the states cant.

The federal government was NEVER supposed to be this big anyway.

Yeah that's all good and dandy, but the government needs to spend. It just needs to be responsible in other areas as well for example pushing to increase exports, reduce imports. Spending on things the Americans shouldn't have to worry about like (but not limited to) food, health, education, and national infrastructure should be increased. So there area where spending is needed, but we all know there are plenty of areas where spending should be cut dramatically.

Really?

Well, it doesn't look like the current structure is ended all that great.

The first constitution of the U.S. was the Articles of Confederation. It specified that federal government consist of only Congress (that had no power to fund itself or tax), no Executive branch (President), and no judicial system. It failed horribly and nine year later they wrote the second constitution which we now just call the Constitution.

Several things including the British blockade, aftermath of Shay's Rebellion, and the effects of inefficient interstate commerce killed it. That's kinda how American politics works: the first reaction is usually an overreaction.

Any bill that allocates any money for anything need 75% of the vote from each house, & the prez's authorization as well. If the prez vetos it can be overriden by 80% of the vote of both houses.

This will ensure that the fed gov't will only be able to spend $$ on very significant issues.

[QUOTE="Jindal]He proposes a “seven-step recovery program” for Congress that includes such perennials as a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution and a line-item veto but also argues for some newer ideas, such as requiring a supermajority to raise taxes and having the body become a part-time legislature.

Well Bobby, that's a step in the right direction, but what about SPENDING??? YOU ONLY NEED TO RAISE TAXES TO PAY FOR MORE SPENDING!
