woah, those terms are redic. I think we should get away from career politicians, not embrace them.
Yeah, those seem too high to me as well.
I'm thinking like a day at most.
Then they get shipped to the bacon mines.

Did you miss the "$200 a year" bit?
everything except the last oneLets architect a new government for when this one fails.
* One term only. (8 years for reps, 10 for senate, 12 for pres)
* All election funding must come solely from individuals (with a respectable limit)
* No political affiliation allowed on ballots
* Commodity based currency
It's a whole weeks worth of beer, nothing to sneeze at for sure.hey man, $200 is a shitton of money to an internet troll. lot more than his mom gives him for allowance anyways.
How can you be a career politician under my rules when you can only be in office a max of 12 years?woah, those terms are redic. I think we should get away from career politicians, not embrace them.

The reason that I chose 12 is that it generally takes a long time for a President to implement his vision. The way we do it now, is that someone gets it like half way done, then the next person spends 6 trillion dollars implementing the exact opposite. Its also a big and complex country, and the inner workings of government are VERY complex. It takes a least a couple years just to figure out how to get things done. Seems like a good idea to me...
What are some other good ideas guys?
That's preposterous.dividing the duties of that big and complex government into like 50 smaller pieces to make it a shitton more manageable instead of the one office dealing with everything seems like an awesome idea to me.
true, but I don't know if I would ever agree to beyond 8 for a single termHow can you be a career politician under my rules when you can only be in office a max of 12 years?

One of the worst things about our current political system is the last 1 1/2 of their terms are spent working on getting reelected. How much time has Obama wasted over the last 9 months trying to help people in his party get elected?
it will put an even bigger premium on attaining that level and people will have to toil longer in state/local politics until they reach "the big time" thus perpetuating career politics.
This is a good point. Take away the bullshit of re-election, and that gives these fuckers no excuse not to be working. As it is, a 4 year term is 2 years of work, and 2 years of campaigning. It's bullshit.
That's why I'd only give them one long term. That way, instead of making sure you get reelected by spending money for your district (and bankrupting future Americans), MAYBE people might do whats good for the country.
Ever heard of a lame duck?
maybe, maybe not. Look at all the idiots electing people who have no idea how government works, simply because they are mad at it.
