What do you use for spyware?

Everytime I work on someone's machine, I use all of these:

Spybot Search & Destroy
Ad-Aware
Ewido Anti-Malware
CWShredder
HijackThis
Look2Me-Destroyer
Process Explorer
Autoruns
regedit
msconfig

I have yet to find a machine I couldn't fix using these utilities (including virus laden machines)
 
zonealarm keeps the work computers free of spyware but I'll use spybot and adaware on occassion to extra protection - like being on the pill, using a sponge and wrapping it

I rarely get spyware in the first place. Why? Because I don't visit sites of questionable security or download shit I'm not supposed to. Try that one for size.

But when you NEEEED that CD key for a specific game... and when you download something that gives you a little hope... BAM it has shit attached to it.

That's why you need to learn where to get that stuff without having to worry about that shit.

Newzbin rocks! two bucks for three or so weeks of stuff :) though the 25 bucks for unlimited giganews downloads is a little much....which is why I've been downloading so much lately, I feel I have to put it to use :fly:

Should have known when it didnt have an icon that something was wrong. Clicked it anyway, like a stupid user. pwnt with spyware. I'll try all the ones that cockweed mentioned tho...

Nope. And it updates its definitions/files multiple times A DAY.

The biggest issue is that it defaults to draconian levels of security. You basically have to teach it what's ok and what's not ok. Frankly, I prefer that to the alternative.
 
Anyone out there use AVG?

I'm interested in their antivirus for work, and they apparently have a antispyware too.

Or I might just go with Kaspersky as the price isn't bad considering all you get.
