I should write a book rather than a sentence? Both Parliaments voted in favour of the Union. How else would you describe it other than voluntary? We English had already accepted a Scottish king so it's not like it was an invasion that led to the Act of Union. James I of England (VI of Scotland) on taking up the English throne announced his intention to unite the 2 countries and styled himself King of Great Britain. It took another 100 years before this happened but it was entirely peacable. I didn't even refer to the Irish Acts of Union. Do please honour us with your greater understanding of British history (without using Google though so you're probably stuffed)

You so try to act superior when you're not. That's what's painful to read. I summarised in a couple of sentences 700 years or more of history. I may have missed the odd point along the way.

Not happy with who I am currently, nor what I am doing currently. Hence the move to change things up. America fucked me up. Too much stuff here that I hate, such as capitalism, commercialism, narcissism, and superficiality to name a few. Yeah I know those things exist else where but fucking hell they are everywhere here. I can't stand the mass population here. Constantly surrounded by people who don't give a fuck about you or anyone else. Even people who get a kick out of fucking with other people. It's like everyone here acts like there are good and happy, but in reality they all hate themselves and actively pursue making other people miserable so they can feel better know that someone else is either worse off, or at least the same as they are.

I actually want to get the fuck out of mainstream society no matter the country. I would absolutely love to go live in the wilderness. Build a homestead out in the middle of nowhere and live off the land. But alas I made commitments to my wife and child which leaves me stuck having to live around other people.

Some of those things you hate are good things when used appropriately.

I dislike most of the same things you do and believe it will only get worse as time goes on. The lack of responsibility is my biggest gripe. Everyone points their fingers elsewhere instead of at themselves.

My in-laws are exactly as you have said (bolded). It's amazing how far out of their way people will go to fuck someone else over. I like when it blows up in their faces.

We're actively searching for unimproved land to purchase and build on. It'll be nice to have a cabin in the woods someday.
