Tampa Well, St Pete... Suicide taken as April Fool's Joke

Basically an old lady committed suicide.
The front desk clerk who worked at her apartment building thought it was an April's Fool joke, left her body outside. Convinced the next person to come to work of the same. Eventually they moved the body to a dumpster.

Later on someone saw the blood and recognized it as blood, then called the cops.

Human psychology is a funny thing. People will go to great lengths to not be embarrassed. It starts with the guy not wanting to fall for a prank, and everyone else not wanting to speak up. After the first guy, a majority of people would do what all the helpers did.

At that point they probably realized it was a body, and that they should do something, but it was too long since it was discovered to call the cops and avoid all pointed questions... so, dumpster
