As you can see here, Cain Velasquez hits harder than anyone ever on Sport Science. So there's no reason he couldn't knock Lesnar out.
Everyone is the Heavyweight division has KO power. Cain has proved he has ground wrestling, which should pose some trouble for Lesnar. Not to mention the speed of Cain's hands being the quickest hands Lesnar has ever faced. If Carwin could step in on Lesnar and tag him, Cain definitely can. Though I suspect Lesnar will want to make this a pure wrestling match so the striking may not be a factor.
I think Cain definitely has the right style to give Lesnar his hardest fight to date.
Before I say this, I have 0 experience really when it comes to MMA. I've seen fights but that's about the limit of my expertise.
Now, how can Cain having ground wrestling be an issue for a person (Lesnar in this case) who has Di college experience wrestling (winning the NCAA championship) as well as having Pro wrestling experience (yes it does help)?
Velasquez was a 2 time All American wrestler. He knows what he's doing.
Lesnar was also a 2 time All American. I was never doubting Cain's ability Just questioning why his wrestling experience would have posed a problem for someone who was classified as better than Cain in wrestling (simply due to winning the championship)
Obviously it doesn't matter because Cain beat him hand to hand and was able to elude Lesnar's takedowns.
I'm just saying Cain should, and obviously was was good enough to hang with Lesnar with regards to wrestling.
And Lesnar was a 4 time All American.
