Just took that photo. Stupid cell phone flash makes me look paler than pale. My feet are doing good. Still can see the scar on my left foot. Scar on right foot is barely there. I can feel the head of the metal pin in my left foot but it isn't touching any nerves so I haven't had it taken out. After 25 years of wearing orthodics in my shoes, I've finally developed an arch in both feet. So I no longer use any orthodics. One of these days I'll buy some normal low top sneakers like everyone else has. I still prefer mid top shoes, like hiking boots, that support my ankles better.

Would you reccommend the surgery for someone? Like I said, mine aren't nearly as bad as yours were, but they hurt and ache a lot, but I've known some people who've had it done and regretted it because it ached afterwards, too much.

Honestly August if I were you (omg I'm dispensing medical advice again, yay!) I would look at more accessable methods like an Orthotics specialist to get some good insoles or see a physio who can recommend such things and assess how your walking may be affecting your bones. The first thing the physios did with my knee pain yesterday was check out my feet to see how flat footed I was, they then saw that I pronate a lot and recommended certain insoles so my legs would walk a lot straighter.

Yes. Your flat feet concern me though. As someone who once had flat feet and knows what the pain is like, you really should see a podiatrist and see if you can get some custom orthodics made and start working on your feet. Hopefully you can get some arches after a few years and alleviate the pain that you must experience.

My only regret about having my bunions removed was that I didn't do the exercises after surgery. I now have scar tissue in the joint in my big toe so I can't bend my big toes downward at all. It hurt too much a week after surgery to do the stretching that my podiatrist wanted me to do. Other than that, I have no pain from my toes anymore. Shoes fit properly now after surgery. Other than that I'm glad to have gotten the bunions removed.

I still have a lot of lower back, hip, and knee pain especially when standing for long periods of time (like concerts) that I've always thought was caused by my feet (bad arches). But my doctor says no since I have arches now and he can't figure out why I have pain. It's general foot pain that I've grown to live with. A lot less pain then when I was younger.

tl;dr I hate my feet and want them replaced with cybernetic implants.
