if the let you go here in a non-fired capacity you get a month of pay for every year you've been here. pretty decent

If you have a job lined up to replace, 2 weeks is standard and reasonable. In Britain it's 4 weeks, which I think it's too long.
IIRC the last person who quit from this job just stopped showing up one day and hid her office keys in her desk. lol!

Yep, same here, moving to the middle seems tough as heck, yet upper management always seems to stream in from other companies.
