Guinness stopped filtering through fish bladders so is now vegan
Not that you really care, but it's not *through* fish bladders. They use ground up bladders as a fining agent. Since the bladders maintain an electrical charge, the shit suspended in the beer sticks to it when they dump it in. It's then heavy enough to fall to the bottom. Instead there's a good chance that if they're not using isinglass, they're using ground up plastic. Feel better?

That's interesting. I just did a quick search to see what Guinness had switched to from the bladders, but didn't find anything.

I found this though :D

"There’s a 17th century English recipe for “Cock Ale” that starts like this, “Take eight gallons of Ale, take a Cock and boil him well; then take four pounds of Raisins of the Sun well stoned, two or three Nutmegs,” and so on, all to be “beat in a Mortar” before bottling."

My understanding is that due to vegan pressure, some folks have moved to PolyClar, which is actual plastic ground up and dumped in the beer. We have some, but I've never tried it as *I* have some reservations about that.
