I was going through a bunch of my old music and decided to do a list of the top 40 albums of my teen years. I only picked ones that were released when I was 13-18. I also only listed each artist once. If they happened to release two during that period I picked their best. My years were 1992-1997. Which sucks because for me the greatest year of music release was 1991 (Temple of the Dog, Ten, Nevermind, Black Album.) Would any of these be on your list? What would your list look like? The only order these are in is year released.

I have no favorite albums that were released when I was a teenager. -.-

If I were you I wouldve put The Verve - Urban Hymns on there.

I like just about every single album you posted. When I get home I may go download a bunch of them from Amazon. Thanks!

My equivalent years. No Bowie on the list, only because my favourite albums of his were earlier. Similarly Hendrix and all sorts of other greats. I tried not to be revisionist ie not to add albums I grew to like later. By 1975 I was paying more attention to soul singles as that was what I was djing so not as many albums on the list. 1970 I was probably still into the charts a bit.

Seriously was there any good albums 1999-2006 o_O

Cat Power - The Greatest
Govt Mule - The Deep End
Shakira - Laundry Service
The Sword - Age of Winters

I saw govt mule play in athens a number of times back in the mid 90's at the GA Theater. amazing dive with 32oz drafts for $3 back in the day. they'd come drink with the crowd after the show. I used to call their now deceased bass player, allen woody, mr. woody :fly:

Gosh, you guys left off Tiffany... I mean c'mon.. who didn't awkwardly slow dance to I Think We're Alone Now in a dimly lit gymnasium reaking of Aqua Net and Polo cologne?

I had a real love hate relationship with Jane's Addiction and RHCP during my youth. It wasn't until I was older that I really appreciated them.
