Ontopic Today is Nikki Sixx Day

Wow, I haven't listened to Motley Crue in forever. I should pull out some tapes in honor of this day. Maybe pull on an old concert t-shirt and some ripped up jeans and tease up my hair and make my family scared.

i guess we can change this to NIKKI SIXX WEEK since we celebrated 2 days ago.

LOL time. I suck at it.

No way I could pick just one song. I played the Shout At the Devil album to death when I was a teenager. At the time I would have told you Too Young To Fall in Love was my favorite song. Kickstart My Heart always gets me revved up even though I felt like that album as a whole was weaker than previous offerings.

kickstart my heart is awesome its on my workout playlist... i love running to that jam.

i love love love love Live Wire , Looks that Kill and Too Young to fall in love

He played at the halifax casino several years ago, unfortunately I had other plans that night. I thought "oh, he'd be back again, like every other canadian musician"... well suffice to say, he ain't coming back :(

Fuck cancer.

EC, during the Cream days, was fucking incredible. Things like the guitar solo from Crossroads (wheels of fire live album) and just the plain sound/riffs/everything else in songs like Badge, are just awesome.

After cream, meh... though the Riding with the King album he did with BB King is pure deliciousness.

edit: oh, and the guitar solo from And My Guitar Gently Weeps.

EC best solo albums are From the Cradle, Riding with the King, Me and Mr. Johnson with most of the songs being blues standards. The album that EC did John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers is excellent too.

I will say they benefited from having extremely above average production value on their albums. Compared to others in that genre at the time it's night and day.
