Ontopic Today is Nikki Sixx Day

There was also curiosity from the emergent powerhouse of British blues: Cream and Eric Clapton. There was a particular night when Cream allowed Jimi to join them for a jam at the Regent Street Polytechnic in central London. Meeting Clapton had been among the enticements Chandler had used to lure Hendrix to Britain: "Hendrix blew into a version of [Howlin' Wolf's] 'Killing Floor'," recalls Garland, "and plays it at breakneck tempo, just like that – it stopped you in your tracks." Altham recalls Chandler going backstage after Clapton left in the middle of the song "which he had yet to master himself"; Clapton was furiously puffing on a cigarette and telling Chas: "You never told me he was that fucking good."

Man I hate motley crue
These fags pound heroine and live forever
Stevie Ray gives it up and is gone
fuck

That was a "where were you when Kennedy died" moment for me. I was driving to my first day of college for move in and heard it on the radio. They were initially reporting Clapton died too.

Umm, he kinda died in a plane crash, man. Unless, the pilot was on heroin??

Side note : my mom was at that concert, at Alpine Valley. His plane flew directly away from the venue.. And crashed :(

Um no it was a helicopter that SRV was riding in when it crashed in the fog. He was going from the Alpine Valley venue to his hotel when he died.

Im aware of that
Point is hes gone and were still stuck with motley crue
life isnt fair :(

The most of the best of the guitarists/song writers are gone
Jimi Hendrix
Gary Moore
Jeff Healy
SRV

The best guitarist ever is still alive :D

Um no, Derek Trucks is a better slide player. There are guitarists just as capable as EC.

EC could be among the great guitarists/song writers but he is too lazy in his writing.

He played at the halifax casino several years ago, unfortunately I had other plans that night. I thought "oh, he'd be back again, like every other canadian musician"... well suffice to say, he ain't coming back :(

Fuck cancer.

EC, during the Cream days, was fucking incredible. Things like the guitar solo from Crossroads (wheels of fire live album) and just the plain sound/riffs/everything else in songs like Badge, are just awesome.

After cream, meh... though the Riding with the King album he did with BB King is pure deliciousness.

edit: oh, and the guitar solo from And My Guitar Gently Weeps.

EC still had it on the Blind Faith album.
