We were next to a patio (or lanai for fly).

Next to, but not in/on. We were completely indoors. And it was just as loud in the middle as it was in the front and the back. That place was just loud as crap lol. Their sound proofing sucks.

Yes, marble walls and tile floors with granite table tops are not too good for sound insulation.

They should have invested in some sound proofing tiles for their ceiling, behind the walls, and under the floors. Thicker fabrics would have also helped absorb some of the sound.

I sitll enjoyed my meal, even though I know nothing of what anyone tried saying to me .
