Port-O-Let hideout proves dirty decision for burglar
TAMPA -- A suspected car burglar got a messy surprise Saturday when his victims found him hiding out in a construction site Port-O-Let and turned it over on its side, Tampa police said.
Lorenzo Earl Knight, 22, of Tampa, whose address is unknown to police, has been charged with auto burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Officers say Knight broke into two vehicles at International Plaza Mall on Saturday roughly between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Police said he first entered a 1999 Ford F-150 double cab and stole a digital camera valued at $500. He also stole the owner's manual. He then broke into a 2002 Ford F-150 parked next to the first truck. While inside the second truck, police said, Knight spotted the owner and his friend, who then chased Knight to a nearby construction site.
Knight tried to conceal himself in a Port-O-Let but the victim and his friend found him, then turned over the portable toilet, causing large amounts of human waste to cover Knight. They held him down until police arrived.
