The pouches are the way to go at first, essentially no chew items. Carrots do not get soft enough to be chewed by a kid with no teeth easily.

They make these things called mum mums that are basically sweetened communion wafter thatll develop hand eye coordination and dissolve in the kids mouth

No chunky stuff for a couple of months or so, too easy to choke.

That's me. Also have very vivid photographic memory of the house we moved out of at age 1-1/2 or so. Down to the texture and pattern of the living room carpet. Pattern, color, and placement of various furniture, etc. My parents were astonished.

Kids are smarter than they get credit for. Adults are the dumb ones.

it's the in-laws house
it was originally built in the 1800s sometime as a 2 room log cabin farmhouse on the family farm that my father in law and his like 10 brothers and sisters all grew up in.

my father in law built a whole updated house around it, but kept that piece of the wall in the kitchen.

we haven't tried giving her fish yet, we'll wait to see how she does with veggies, cereal, & fruit first - fish is more often allergenic, so it's not a good idea to start with that
